Our Mission
Located in the heart of the entertainment capital of the world,
The Legacy Theatre Las Vegas will serve as the premier professional entertainment & event venue in Las Vegas, dedicated to preserving the rich history of the African Americans who paved the way in Entertainment in Las Vegas.
About the Legacy
The Legacy Theatre began as a vision from Artistic Director Torrey Russell — a dream to create a space where creativity, culture, and community could live under one roof.
For over fifteen years, that dream guided the work of Broadway in the HOOD, an organization dedicated to giving youth and families free access to professional theatre training and life-changing opportunities in the arts. Through hundreds of performances, workshops, and outreach programs, the vision for a permanent home continued to grow.
That vision is now reality. The Legacy Theatre stands as Nevada’s first African American–owned and operated performing arts and education complex — a place built for inspiration, collaboration, and excellence.
More than just a stage, The Legacy Theatre is a home for artists, students, and dreamers. Within its walls are classrooms, rehearsal spaces, and a museum honoring legendary entertainers across art, music, theatre, and sports.
The Legacy Theatre exists to do more than showcase talent — it exists to build legacy, one story, one performance, and one generation at a time.
